The Jeff Cooper C.A.R.E. Foundation is dedicated to Cardiac Awareness, Research, and Education primarily for young adults aged 18-35 who are greatly affected by heart disease and are largely unaware of its symptoms and effects. In light of the unexpected passing of Jeff Cooper, family and friends are collaborating to help in the prevention of heart disease. The Jeff Cooper C.A.R.E. Foundation will aim to:
- Serve as a vibrant and living legacy to Jeff’s life, embodying a distinct set of values and goals.
- Raise funding that will assist in promoting awareness, research, and education of America’s number one cause of death, heart disease.
- Cooperate with educational institutions, hospitals, and any other organization that can help us convey our message to increase awareness and diagnosis of the symptoms of heart disease.
- Increase prevention of heart disease through collaboration with appropriate parties to make heart screening a standard practice in preventative health and routine physicals.
- Work to increase the accessibility of diagnostic testing for all young adults, including those for whom the cost is prohibitive.
- Increase funding to change fundamental healthcare options regarding heart disease.
- Increase the amount of research conducted for heart disease specifically within the 18-35 year old age group.
- Change the bar of care to have a more preventative, rather than reactive, focus.
- Provide scholarships to students who share Jeff’s educational path and/or personality traits.
